    Answer:

    The dichotomy is a methodological dividing line in geography. Another dividing line was brought in Subject Matter. Ratzel’s view was completely different from the General Geography of Humboldt and Ritter. Humboldt was one step ahead by saying that Physical Geography was General Geography. It was discredited by Ratzel.
