    What are the special features of Banjara tribe?

    Ans) They were are the most important Nomadic traders. They travelled in a caravan called tanda. Banjaras carried grains on their bullocks from different areas and sold it in towns. They also help in transporting food grains for the Mughal army during military campaigns. In a large army there could be one lakh bullocks carrying grains. These Banjaras carry their household wives and children– along with them. They on their own oxen.

    Ans) As the needs of society grew, people with new skills for required. Smaller castes or jatis emerged within varnas. Many tribes were taken into caste-based society and given the status of jatis. Smiths, carpenters and masons were also recognised as separate jatis.
